Anyone going to the Frosty Farky last weekend of Sept?

I plan to attend this year and, hopefully, shoot both "F" class and TR. The last time I attended I actually crossfired and thus blew myself out. I plan to erase the memory of this dismal performance by doing well this year. I think I'll shoot a new 308 in "F" class with my 6BR as backup. Regards, Bill.

Confirmed with Mark today. Be nice to see you Bill, are you bringing the de-frippulator? I'm bringing my new un-winfieldizer. I hope it works better than the last 4 I did.

Cheers, Glen

De-Frippulator?? Better bring along a De-Lapierulator as well! With Dennis coming, I'll have to content myself with a distant runner-up ranking... he sure inspires though!!!

Unless something on the family front pops up, will be there with my 6.5 Mystic. Will try shooting prone this year.

Should prove interesting.

Check with Mark at the Powder Keg but as far as I know, you only get to shoot one class and all F shooters are lumped together.

F(F) will shoot with F(O) when scoring in F class. Prone and BR will run separate trophies as will TR.

If Mark tells me the crossfire story one more time I think I'll throw up :p J/K

But he did bring it up tonight when I mentioned De-Frippulator...he immediately said "LEEPER....Tom.....Bill Leeper's coming". :D

See you here
Richard

Ardent, hope you can make it. Just be careful that there is a 'magnum' restriction. you based your 7AIM off the RSAUM or WSM case didn't you?

That would be considered a magnum and will likely be disqualified. Best to check with Mark at the Powder Keg in Kamloops to avoid dissapointment.

Jerry

It's actually off the WSSM case, it holds the same water case capacity as the 7mm-08 down to withing a grain or two, should be alright I imagine. Now I just need to redo all my load data before the shoot as I lost it all and haven't had this rifle out since! Hoping my seater's still set to the sweet spot length.

Glen,
The De-Frippalator is almost ready, the last coat of finish is drying on the stock. Testing will commence next week. I will NOT crossfire this time! Regards, Bill

Bill, you put a nice finish on? Damn, I better get out the spray bombs. I've still got rounds to load and finish work, and now I gotta paint my stock. I guess I should've started yesterday. Wait a minute, I'm not going to Kamloops this weekend. Yahoo, tons of time left.

Don't worry about the crossfire. I remember a couple of years ago I crossfired an X on Mark's target. I think it was the only X I shot all bloddy weekend. Aren't old eyes a pisser!!

Cheers, Glen

Angus, the Farky is probably almost full from what Mark said at the APRA Palma last weekend. It's best to give him a call at Powder Keg in Kamloops. That way you'll get it from the top.

Cheers, Glen

Glen,
In case you are interested; The de-Frippalator is complete! I never have figured out how to post a picture but a brief description I can do.
It is based on a 40XB-BR action fitted with a 416 stainless sleeve to bring the diameter up to 1 5/8". The bolt was replaced with a homemade unit featuring a separate bolt head (Like a Savage). The bolt head made of EN30B for those who care about such things.
The barrel is a Hart 14 twist chambered for the common 308 Winchester but with a 334 neck and 3085 throat to accomodate 168 Sierras.
It was pillar bedded into a laminated BR stock from Richards Microfit (grey/black) then glued and screwed in.
To fire the thing I will be pulling on a 2 OZ Canjar trigger which was the hot item back in '78. It still feels pretty good.
The Weaver 36X scope is held in Burris rings clamped on to Weaver steel bases.
All together it weighs in at a svelte 8KG and though hardly cutting edge, should perform OK. Up until now I have avoided joining the "BR without a bench" school for "F" class but feel I have been forced into it!
Initial testing will commence in about 20 minutes. Regards, Bill.
