Anyone gonna buy LAR15 Mags for their T97?

Speaking of which, anyone know what the T97 will group like? anyone heard any groupings?
LAR MAGS:

How she groups....Dirty Bird (American Eagle), 55g, 75 yards, 4moa red dot. It would probably be much better with 62 g and a smaller red dot size or magnified optic....

And with open sights, same ammo, 75 yrds:

Hey clobb wasn't lector turning out some awesome groups with the 97? Or was that with someone elses gun?

It's important to keep in mind that the groups I posted are probably going to be typical of what the T97, standard ammo, and red dot are capable of.

I know, I know, on the internet every rifle is a 1 MOA rifle and people can hit pop cans at 300 yards ALL DAY LONG with their rifles...

That being said, This is the post by 22short_improved regarding Lectors groups...keep in mind that I believe the T97 Lector used was modified somewhat...
Also - Lector later posted in the thread that he used very, very good hand loads.
I had a Tavor and more than one 97 but I did not shoot them side by side.
But in my opinion they shoot different tho.

This was shot this with my Type 97 in a friendly competition a month ago.
My rifle: Benchrested, Zeiss scope.
Distance: 109 meters.
Each group is 10-shot. The squares in the grid of the paper are 1" x 1".
Shooter: Lector (not drunk). He used his own ammo.

Between group 6 and 7 he took a break.
He went to smoke his lungs, drink coffee and bully some of his friends on another range.
So it was enough time for the barrel to cool down before groups 7, 8 and 9.

If people are interested in Lar mags from Questar, they should pool their money and buy 10 or more to get the discount.

That's the stuff I was talking about clobb! I believe that rifle was recrowned, no?

Either way those are some awesome ten shot groups! You are right, your pics are the norm, but it's nice to see what the gun can do.

Anytime you have a centerfire rifle for the purposes of hunting, 5 rounds is the limit, right?

Is that 5 rounds in the magazine, or the CAPACITY of the magazine itself?

Like would having only 5 rounds in my 10 round mag be legal when I take my T97 in the woods, or would I have to pin a few of my 10 rounders?

as long as the magazine was designed for a pistol, it doesn't matter what gun its used in. so yes. as long as its a LAR-15 Magazine you are legal to have 10 rounds in it, in you're T97

The best part is that, because of the way our Canadian law is worded it's the magazine that
determines the capacity, not what the magazine is eventually used in. The LAR-15 10
Round Magazine can have a 10 round capacity regardless of the firearm you use them in...
If you own an AR pistol or an AR rifle then you now have access to 10 round legal
magazines

EXCEPT if you're in an area where game might be found, then you're violating hunting regs.

Yeah, I figure I'm gonna keep the 10 round ones for the range, and pin 2 of em for the woods. The rifle doesn't look nearly as dubious without that long 30 round AR mag sticking out the back.

If your saying you are going to Pin a 10rd LAR mag.

DONT PM me and I will trade you one of your LAR10rd mags for a C-Products 10rd ar mag that is pinned to 5 already.

Cheers

Depends on your Province of course.
In Alberta we can’t use a .223 for big game hunting anyway and the semi-automatic rifle 5 round rule only applies to big game hunting.
Wandering in the woods with a T97 and 10 round magazines plinking, coyote/rabbit hunting is perfectly legal.
