You are aware prior to about the mid 1950's magazines were referred to as clips as well as mags. In fact what you would refer to as clips were and still are referred to as chargers in some areas. Clips, mags use which ever term you want. Elmer Keith. a noted American writer and shooting competitor. in his book "Hell I Was There" refers to magazines as clips. Growing up in Alberta I read magazines, I loaded clips in my .22. :>)

Yes, I'm aware people call things by the wrong name all the time. Margarine is not butter, an SUV isn't a car, a clip isn't a magazine and I don't care who you are.
