Anyone had a NP22 or 34 completely fail?

Searching the web for reviews, I've seen a few people complain about cracked or split frames and rails on these two particular guns. (these are the sig 226/228 clones btw)

I have also seen mention of the guns being redesigned to remedy this problem?

Can anyone shine some light on this? Have they been redesigned to deal with a problem to do with frames/rails? And if so, anyone know when?
 
I was concerned before buyin my NP34 but after confirming the redesign I had a Gunsmith install a SRT kit and he commented how much more beefier the slide rails were on the new models. Have heard a few places using the Norcs for range guns with many 1000s of rounds thru them with no challenges plus they come with a replacement spring kit.

I think new ones (34) with the picatinny rails are good.

Any idea if its a real picatinny rail? I've heard at least one review that said nothing fits the rail (this was an NP22) neither a cheap nor a more expensive light fit, although a forward grip did in his case...

Can anyone confirm if thats still the case or not?


Also, anyone know when they redesigned them?
 
My NP34 rail has had a laser and led light one with a QD lever one with spring loaded depress, both are standard picatinny both mount easily.

My NP22 fits my TLR-1 light just fine.
 
Do these guns still have oddball sized sight dovetails, so replacement sites dont fit right? That is one problem I have heard about 'em...
 
I tried the 226 and 228 and prefer the balance and feel of the 228 especially with Hogue finger groove grips.

I have heard the clones wear quite well as range guns had mine for a year now zero issues. :)

But hey it was 379.00 not like being stuck with a 1000.00 poor shooter.

Call Reliable Gun and Tackle they have many happy reports on these much improved clones. My Gunsmith buddy has great praise for the steel used in these clones.

Have you actually owned a sig clone and put a bunch of rounds through it?

Or is this just what a buddies friend told you? And what keeps failing on these pistols? I see lots of good reviews of these pistols, some people are even claiming they get used in some places as range guns, which one would expect would take a beating. But I have also heard of some possible problems with them, so any insight into that would be great.

On the other hand, I have been building guns on Norinco frames for long enough to know what Norinco can do well and what they can't.

Small parts out of spec, heat treatment unpredictable, spring rates vary from gun to gun, frame rails out of spec. Those are the most common problems with the NP34.

You see quite a few good reviews because most people don't shoot their guns.

Curious how many SRT kits you have installed in these pistols in order to inspect the quality of these newest batches?

May want to call Will at reliable Gun and Tackle to discuss there high round count NP-22/34s as they have actual first hand experience.

I trust these guys for there in hand real world usage based reports as well.

No but it provides an opportunity to actually dig into the gun and inspect it first hand and then an opportunity to test fire it and form an opinion on the new models being sold.

But hey what do I know I just depend on Gunsmiths to do work and provide feedback as opposed to making assumptions.
