I've seen a lot of talk about all kinds of 1911s here, but hardly ever about a Wilson Combat. I also see a lot of Wilson combat part flowing round, hammers, mags, safeties, etc. Has anyone ever bought or shot a Wilson Combat 1911 in any model? I would like to see some review on those. My PAL instructor don't seem to like them, he said something about price is wayyyyyyyy too high and quality is not that much better. He ended up recommand a Norinco 1911A1... So please, anyone who's had some experience with Wilson Combat guns speak UP! Thanx.

well, I had one recently... and i agree with your instructor. For the $$$ you spend, the difference is minimal. I replaced my wilson rig with a Dlask custom built on a Caspian upper and lower, now we are talking quality, and worth every penny.

P&D has two wilson combats in stock, $2800 each..... comparable kimber is around $1400 with the same features and such.

you do the math..... while I am sure wilson is nice, the kimber is just as nice. that being said I would love to own a wilson, would be like having a perazi shotgun. (sp?)

I would love to get the smaller(commander length) CQB but its .05 to small for Canada & for $2800 theres lots of other stuff I could buy

We had guns custom built (for stupid Canadian laws) by Wilson Combalt with no problems since they are a custom shop. Are they worth the money.?..all just personal opinions and near $3000 not for everyone but if you want a premium hand built pistol you get what you pay for. Our first shipment of Wisons are sold out and the next batch is a third sold before it has even arrived. We tried for two years to get Wison interested in dealing with a Canadian company as they felt there was not enough interest or money in Canada to justify the effort at exporting. When we personally handed Bill Wilson our last order at the Shot Show his eyes seemed to glaze over and Chris had to explain to him in detail that guns (including handguns) are alive and well in Canada and that we appreciate quality work and are prepared to pay for it. The gave us distribution for Canada and a spot on their web site which has sent many customers to us. If anyone wants to find out what's left of our current order call Chris at the shop.
