I pulled down the Barnes Reloading info off the Barnes website for .308 WIN and it lists 180 gr TSX but does not list their TTSX. This is essentially the same bullet, but the TTSX has a ballistic tip. Can someone please confirm that the min load of H4895 is 38 gr, and Max load is 42 gr, with a recommended COAL of 2.810" ?

I have loaded a pressure test batch of 27 rnds, 3 rnds each, 38gr thru 42gr in half grain increments, with a COAL of 2.830" using fire formed NOSLER neck sized brass. When I was seating the bullet I was getting a crunching sound which means that either my powder hasn't settled in the case, or I've now compressed these loads correct? I know these are long bullets, but it seems a little odd that min load would be compressed. Anyone have experience here?

This is my first batch of reloads I've ever done, so I'm a little nervous about just going out and firing these. Maybe someone can put my mind at ease.

I'm pretty sure that it says you can use the same load data for tsx and mrx for ttsx right on their website. It's in bold, just take a look.

As for the crunching sound, does your load data say anything about a compressed load? I'm gonna bet that's what it is. When I load for my 300wm, I use a compressed load, makes the crunching sound with H1000.

Haha, ok that solves that. Thank you. *cue fail trombone from Price is Right* Can anyone explain the crunching? These are meant to be compressed loads?
