Sorry if theres threads on this, I searched and didn't find what I was looking for.

I'm wondering how they are quality wise?

They're pretty damned expensive at $1700. It would be cool to get something made in Canada though, which I think they are?

Welcome.

If you're into an AR that sais made in Canada, why don't you buy one of their lowers and build your own. You can do it much cheaper and to your liking for less... and if you ask nicely, I'm sure the guys and gals around here will help every step of the way.... :D

Cheers.

i have a Dlask lower that i bought off of te EE a year or so back, it fits and functions nicely with the 2 uppers that i have. if you look others may have different opinions.

dlask has tuned up a couple AR's for me, built on dlask lowers.... nothing but exceptional is what i have come to expect from dlask. from 1911's, AR and he just did some custom work on my m14.
you can buy his lowers and uppers as a platform to build from. i know my dlask tuned , dlask lower and flat top upper, 8.5" shorty functioned flawlessly.

Early Dlask lowers seemed to have a problem with Thermold magazines. None would fit in my CGN version.

No issues with metal mags, and running LAR10 mags exclusively now with good results.

It was likely the make of the mag causing this issue but I tried an AR with a Dlask lower at the range last week and the mag well fit was exceptionally tight and it required a significant amount of effort to seat the mag and to remove it.

Tight mag well on the Dlask CGN AR is a known issue. No idea if all Joe's AR's are like that or if he "fixed" that or not.

I have one of Dlasks very early lowers and really the only issue is with Thermelts because of the bevel to the inside magwell. All else is gravy. Now, their newer model, has a bevel that is more accomodating to Thermolds.
If other mags aside from the Thermolds didn't work then, they are out of spec mags, period. I've seen them and tried them myself.

You'll run into the occasional mag that was pinned on the spine and the rivit was left protruding a bit much and this drags against the magwell spine making the magazine difficult to insert and extract.

The early Dlask receivers did have a smidge of a thicker (longer time in) anodizing, but if the parts you assembled with were within spec, they fit great. 99.9% of the time.

When a lower is newly manufactured it may have some imperfections, or excess anodizing in small areas where small parts fit. All pretty normal stuff. I'm pretty sure even a Colt receiver may have needed to be fit during assembly to a certain point to guarantee the reliability of the rifle.
After parts are fit properly, you can dissassemble, mix and match with other manufacture parts to your hearts content. Then it's LEGO time like most people expect of ARs.

When you buy a stripped lower and assume installation, you're somewhat expected to know how to recognize and correct small fit issues if they arise. Otherwise, a complete lower with LPK may be a better choice.

Installing substandard parts, or out of spec parts not knowing the difference until the gun doesn't work and then #####ing at the lower itself makes as much sense as hair on a bowling ball.

The CGN lower deal going on right now, I read that whichever supplier of the final receivers will be, I forget now, (Wolverine? Questar?) will sell assembled receivers with LPKs so that nobody can blame the receiver itself when substandard parts are intalled and don't work right.

Well, that's a great idea, but imagine if you coudn't buy any stripped receivers any more because manufacturers don't want the blame for what kitchen mechanics do and blame the company for.

Anyway, ... :) all I'm saying is that Dlask lowers, from what I've seen and used for a number of years, are pretty good receivers and if you want a Canadian AR lower component. Call and speak with Josef at Dlask Arms Corp.

I've had two Dlask built AR-15 rifles. One was a ultra short HBAR MINIMOOSE. This was the OLD style lower receiver, before anodising, probably powder coated, and it WAS tight and therefor magazine sensitive.

GI spec mags worked fine, but some others were a bit too fat. Also, Dlask did not machine off the back of the mag well at a bevel, so plastic mags did not fit UNLESS you filed the boss off of the plastic mag.

My second Dlask was another shorty, 11.5" HBAR, and it was fine [ except for the roll pins at the front sight mount. ]

I have built over three dozen AR 15 rifles from kits, and I would not hesitate to use DLASK AR uppers or lowers for my own builds. The internal parts kits, last time I checked, were ARMALITE.

If you want something basic and standard, you can probably get a better price from some of the other Canuck suppliers, but for something $pecial, or CU$TOM, Dlask is set up to do just about anything. And for the only MADE IN CANADA AR, Dlask is it.

Kind of. Been waiting (12 or 13 working days, but who's counting) for the CFO to bless the purchase of the assembly that MRCLARK had for sale (Dlask upper/lower).

Haven't heard anything bad about them (except the tight mag issue)
