I'm thinking it might be time to save up my pennies and get another .45 and I'm thinking I'll go with a Glock. I like the 21 but I also really like my 34. So I'm trying to decide if it's worth throwing down the extra cash to add another long slide. Anyone put hands on a 41 or have other thoughts on why a 41 is preferable to a 21 or vice versa?

I've had both the Glock 21 and Glock 41. (Also have the G34.) I still have the G41, but I think I should have held onto the G21.

Not sure why, but maybe because the G21 feels better in the hand. (The G41 is quite large.) I don't consider the G41 to be a worthy counterpart to the G34. IMHO.

Thanks for the post. Like I said to me it seems logical to get both longslides and call it a day but you make a good point and to be honest it was one I was curious about seeing as the 41 doesn't come with the enlarged slide catch or 4.5 lbs trigger that the 34 does.

i dont have the 41 but i have the 40 and i love it!
that extra length and slide mass really help with the bigger bullets.

Although I also find the 40 intriguing, the 41 has the thinner 34/35 slide as oppose to the brick (for lack of better term) that sits atop the 40

Hello rkm456,

The only GLOCK I own is the 41 Gen 4, and except for the GLOCK trigger (which is the 4.5# trigger by the way), I quite love it, and don't imagine I would ever part with it. Of all my handguns [Para, CZ, Ruger (several), S&W], it is my ultimate (fantasy) zombie apocalypse gun. It sits in a safe with an 800 Lumen Streamlight TLR-1 on it.

I find that it is the perfect size and heft to nicely handle the .45 ACP

I see you are in Ottawa (or area). I will be traveling that way in early to mid-March. If you are around and interested, I could bring it up for you to try.

Pax

Can someone suggest a good shop to get parts for the 41 gen 4? I’m looking for an extended mag release to start. Thanks.
