Search function fails me on finding opinions and experience on the KELTEC SU-16.

I was thinking about getting one. Coyote/wolf/fox/beaver is kind of the plan. I think a semi auto in .223 would be good in the right circumstances.

I am curious about accuracy and consistency, as well as reliability.

I bought one in January , have since put about a thousand rnds through it. Not one malfunction. At the range 2 days ago with 9 lar mags , fired all 9 pretty fast, put all 90 rnds in a 5 inch circle, keep in mind I was shooting with a bipod and shooting very fast. Had no problem at 200 yards either. There seems to be a lot of haters of this gun , I like it. It cost $1200 modded out. If you can't shoot a coyote at 300 yards with this then it's not the guns fault. I was using AE black box 55 g ammo. A lot of people will try and compare it to robinson arms xcr-l which costs $1300 +taxes more.

I had one and sold it. I liked it for what it was, semi auto CF, folds up nice to fit in quad box, light to carry, etc. I found it very unpleasant to shoot though, it was too light. Each shot would ring my ears and rattle my teeth.

Ya I just did a search and all I got was this thread. I am interested in this rifle also.

you have to set the date to more than the 2 week default, there are a ton of threads on this gun, here are 3 pages worth of threads.

I've put a lot of rounds downrange with mine, never had a failure of any kind. It's lightweight which is nice, easy to carry, aftermarket options for stock etc. I have a Trijicon 1-4 with aero precision lightweight scope mount on mine and it's a really low-weight setup. If your expectations are reasonable, the SU16 will deliver fun reliable shooting. One thing to note, when disassembly time comes for cleaning, it's best to have a short optic like my trijicon or a QD scope mount, for a visual on this check out youtube, there's some videos showing disassembly.
