I need to get a case trimmer and was just wondering what one i should go with i do not want to spend alot of money no more than around 100 so can someone give me some advice thanks

I'm not positive about price, but the Lyman Universal Shell Trimmer works well for me.

There are several out there and every-one has their own opinion! I am a Hornady guy.

Do a search for "trimmer" in this forum. This question has been asked quite a few times.
You will be able to get a variety of answers and nail down your trimmer of choice.

I have had the Lyman universal for years. It works great, however, I just started using the LEE trimmer, and it is excellent. Dirt cheap too. That is what I will now be using for 308 and 223.

Yeah the LEE trimmer on 223 and 308 works well. For rimmed cases, can't really use a drill, the brass just comes loose.

I think you're looking at about $15.00 to do it with the LEE setup.

I just turn all my other brass by hand. It's not so hard once you get over the initial hump where you're taking off a lot. Once you deburr inside the case neck, the brass comes off really easily after the 3rd or 4th shot.

I got a Lyman manual trimmer and all the pilots years ago. I used it for a few years but always found myself going back the the LEE trimmer and case length gauge. I use my cordless drill with a 3-jaw chuck. Works great for all my trimming needs. I FINALLY got myself an RCBS Case prep center for all my flash hole deburring, inside and out chamfering and uniforming and cleaning the primer pockets....wish I had this 20 yrs ago ;)

I use the Lee trimmers on my cordless drill and they come out to max length consistently - checked with both digital calipers and a Lyman EZee Case Length Gauge.

I use a Redding 2400 trimmer. It has a collet type shell holder so I don't have to switch shell holders. I can replace the cutter head also which my old one wouldn't let me do. This one turns the case not the cutter head which is supposed to square the case mouth better. My old one was a Pacific and lasted me 25+ years so I can't complain about it's durability. So far I am pleased with this one.
