Their website clearly states that sales of firearms are final.

If I was spending $ 5,000.00 on a used gun and as you state, the picture was of poor quality and a bad angle,
I would have done some more research on that gun before buying it.
They are prepared to fix it so IMO, you have no complaint. Sorry.

as others have said if i am going to drop $5k on something I am going to inspect it / hold it and take along my borescope to see the condition of the barrel
they offered to fix it - be patient

Thanks for chiming in with the full story

Sounds like a stand up company doing a stand up job to me.

Enough with publicly attacking companies. Deal with them through the proper avenues, ie. phone, email, in person

We've already dealt with this. You have the option of being sent a replacement ring plus one extra free one or will we have the scope/mount sent here at our cost and install the new ring here. Either way you will get an extra free ring in case you ever have an issue in the future.

You failed to mention that you want us to give you $480 for your" unnecessary time, energy, intellectual
preoccupation, phone calls, and emails" with us. We gave you 20% off when you purchased it as well.

The firearm did not have a broken ring when it left here but I did say anything is possible so we are gladly replacing one. It could have broken during shipping, unboxing, falling over or any one of 100 things but that didn't matter to us so we said we would replace the ring.

Sounds like a top notch reconciliation for a bottom of a drawer tool. I've made several purchases from SFRC, they've served me well everytime. I get the principal of it, but Tcost is obviously dilutional as to the value of his time and intelligence.

No offense to the original post...

But, if you're not willing to swap a broken scope mount for a BRAND NEW mount provided from the retailer...

You have no business in buying / getting into a 5k rifle package. You will inevitably need to perform field repairs and fix solutions on your own.

Props to SFRC in providing a simple and "no brainer" solution to the situation. Stellar service as always.

Just my two cents.

So you really want this gun.

You buy said gun.

Said gun had a defect.

They say they will fix the defect.

You will have the amazing gun you wanted in the shape you wanted it in.

Sounds like you regretted your purchase. Suck it up and sell it if you need to or enjoy the amazing firearm.

Yes they will fix the defect, but the point is the rifle was listed as having no defects...

Lol. I don't think this thread is going the way the op thought it would. He must have been expecting a bunch of guys to support and champion his case in order to pressure SFRC. No cheerleaders here. Sounds like SFRC handled the situation appropriately in every way. Some people always want more

IBTL.

Seriously?

SFRC seems to be handling the situation well.

But I hope the OP posts a picture for us to see what has them all sandy....

And OP... Add a poll to the thread for fun.

Just thought id post my experience here with SFRC. I HAVE spoken to them AND emailed and it is getting no where. Anyone have advice?

1) I purchased a scoped rifle package from SFRC for over $5000 during their used gun sale.
2) The gun arrived with a broken scope mount. I notified them same day of delivery. I had to call 2 days later because no one got back to me. Later that afternoon they emailed me back.
3) They say I now need to wait for them to get new part in. They said will ship it to me to fix myself or i can wait for them to fix it if i ship scope back.
4)The setup was listed as in NRA good working order.
5) I asked for a refund or compensation as the rifle package is not in the condition described.
6) The rifle/package is not in good working order as they described in the ad and they are refusing to offer me a refund.
7) they are now claiming I could have damaged it or shipping damaged it. as the photo they had on their site is of poor quality and does not show the correct angle to view the damage.

For a $5000 purchase i hope all CGNers expect better than this.
Is there any legal recourse I have? or is this just buyer beware SFRC style?

Tcost

Sorry for you ,,

I had an issue with a used gun bought at sfrc too. no help from Ryan,
