Anyone have an accurate .22mag rifle?

As mentioned before, the lack of "match grade" ammo for the 22 wmr really makes it not overly accurate in general. Ive been shooting the same Savagr 93 in 22 mag (its a left handed one, standard barrel with sights and a wood stock) for 7 or 8 years now. Once a long time ago I bought a case of Winchester 40gr FMJ bullets and that gun shot lights out @100 yards. Close to 1 ragged hole @50. Since then, I have never found a batch of ammo that shoots that good. I settled on the 40gr CCI TMJ for bashers/upland and the CCI 40gr Maxi Mag for all around shooting. Its still drilling gophers out to 100 yards with both bullets, just not nearly as good as that one batch of Winchesters....

I have a Marlin 25MN that my dad bought in 80's from Canadian Tire, it came with a piece of crap Tasco 3-9X32 in 3/4" or 7/8" tube. I think a couple of shots and the scope was trashed, we put a Bushnell Banner (not better in my opinion!) on it but it did survive and he proceeded to kill every beaver and gopher on the farm with it. It is now mine since dad passed, I have upgraded the scope again and it shoots really well with Winchester silver box 40 grain HPs, it doesn't seem to like the HV stuff from CCI, but I also have some 45 grain SP from Sellier and Bellot I want to try soon. I had it out this past week at the camp hoping for a spring beaver for the bear bait but the ice was still pretty thick so nothing made an appearance. We did throw some hockey pucks out on the ice and had some fun drilling them in ever increasing distance as they were hit. I have always been a fan of the 22WMR and I am currently looking for a Ruger M77/22mag.

I have a savage b22mag fv it shoots 40 gr cci maxi mags in about 1'' at 100yrds ,,, the high vel 30 gr at 1,2'' ,, it shoots everything very well at 50 yrds it is mostly a ragged hole ,, so those that think a 22 mag is not accurate has not tried different guns and ammo , or good bunch rest form

I have a Marlin Model 782 in .22WMR that was made in 1978. It has a man-sized stock on it, and it is astoundingly accurate for what was a fairly inexpensive rifle in its day. It seems to like CCI and Winchester ball best. It will hold well under an inch at 100. I am continually amazed by this.

I have a Ruger American compact with a Vortex Diamondback scope on it. I think the scope is 4x16. I found that it shoots everything accurately. I've been around a half inch at 50m. I have never shot groups any further but I have had great success shooting gophers pass 100yards with it.
I am very happy with it. The only down side to it is I find the bolt is not very smooth.

To repeat. No company has taken the steps to create high quality match ammo. After years of collecting 22's I've started collecting rifles in 22 Magnum. I have bought 16 types/manufactures of Mag ammo to test each rifle I buy to find what each prefers most. A tedious process but worth it when you find the right combo.

apparently the 782 and the 783 (tube mag version) both have excellent reputations for 22wmr accuracy based on owners reports and my research

I have a Marlin XT in 22 mag that shoots great with CCI shootem hollow points (that is the only thing I have tryed)
With a cheap scope under a 2 inch group 5 shot group at 100 meters.

Same. I was pleasantly surprised. Bought the rifle at Sail for $211.00 out the door when they had a sale on a few years back.

Got the same model bought around the same time it's a good shooter.
