Anyone have experience with the Beretta 71?

I've only had mine for a week, had it out twice so far. I shot off some american eagle, Winchester 555 bulk, federal bulk, CCI standard and CCI mini mags, and a few CCI quiets. Probably about 500 to 600 rounds give or take.

First time out it wouldn't eject the quiets, not sure it it was too much or not enough lube, second time out it worked fine but they "dribbled" out ejecting maybe 6 inches, regular ammo was getting flung several feet.

Action range (7-10m) was busy so I had to shoot on the 25m range, I was getting them on the paper. But as was said in another thread recently "that's not a group, that's a pattern" lol. I have about 500 rounds through my tokarev, this is my first .22 pistol so I am by no means a good shot yet and am still learning.

Cleaning is ridiculously simple and fast, as is dis-assembly and reassembly, It takes longer to unscrew the two screws on the grips than it does to field strip the pistol itself. The current barrel offered looks too long IMHO, but there is suppose to be some more barrels at the minimum legal length coming. Both time's I've had it out the only issue is the slide not locking back on an empty magazine, but after giving the mag a good cleaning I think I've fixed that. No misfires, no failures to eject and only two or three failures to feed with the hollow point ammo on the first round in the magazine.

Here's a quick video review from mmat http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/foru...-Beretta-Series-70-Model-72?highlight=beretta

I've had my 71 with the standard shorter barrel for a couple of years. It is one of my favourite pistols, accurate, reliable, light weight and good looking.

The only ammo it won't feed are 333s so I usually just run cheap Federal 525s through it unless I'm shooting for groups.

My friends kids love it and will burn through the better part of a 500 round box of my ammo :).
