I've watched a couple of reviews on ZeroTech's scopes and the limited info out there suggests they offer exceptional value for the money. Anyone have any personal experience? I'm interested in an illuminated THRIVE HD 2.5-15x50mm PHR II. About a $1K less expensive than a Razor HD LHT 3-15X42 that I'm also considering.
Resurrecting a long dead thread here, but thought I would comment now that I've had some time behind one.
Had the chance to try out a Zerotech - Trace Advanced (ADV) 5-30x56. I think some of their stuff is made in China, but this particular product line is made in Japan - I thought I heard someone say same place as Nightforce?? Not sure.
Did quite a lot of practice with it and then shot a PRS match. Worked perfectly all day long. Returned to zero, turrets tracked excellent.
Things I liked about it:
-really generous eye relief (almost 0.5 inch more than my Zeiss S3) and no complaints about the eye box.
-I like the feel of the turrets - just the right amount of stiffness and didn't feel mushy at all.
-34mm tube, lots of turret travel (like 35 mils total, but after zeroed only about 22mils usable with a 20moa base)
-comes with Tenabrex covers and a sunshade
-nice and chunky elevation turret which makes it easier to dial and really easy to read the numbers because the hashmarks on the turret are spread out a bit further. Some scopes I've used had really tight hashmarks and can be tough to read sometimes.
-capped windage turret (but if you need to dial wind it is a beefy turret similar to the elevation).
-lifetime warranty - any user, any problem. But not sure what the fulfillment process is, as they are an Australian company.
Things I wish it had:
-better reticle - comes with their RMG2 or a Tremor 3. The RMG2 is in 0.5 mil increments... not something I want for a PRS match. And the Tremor3 is a bit much some times. However I have been told they are coming out with an RMG3 reticle soon (in a couple months?) which is in 0.2mil increments.
-It comes with an illuminated reticle - I've never used an illuminated reticle at a PRS match.
Other than that I really loved it. I've tried S&B, Leupold Mark 4HD, Vortex Razor, Apex, and Zeiss. I had my Zeiss S3 at the range the other day comparing with the ZT and in mirage conditions out to 1400y I felt like there was better clarity on the ZT vs the Zeiss.
I haven't tried any of their other product lines so I don't have a comment on the Thrive.
