I have a case of 500 of the Barnaul .308 and I was wondering if it's safe to shoot in my DA socom 18?
The Barnaul boxes say .308 and also 7.62 x 51 (which is recommended for m14s)
It's steel cased ammo, but so is the norinco ammo, which there seems to be no issues with when firing out of the m14 platform.
compared to the norinco - look the same and also the bullet weight is basically the same 145gr to 147gr.
When shooting both types today, the Barnaul had a noticeable difference in power and blast though.
Could shooting it be a safety concern, or just an occasional broken shell due to headspace issues (which happened recently with Tulaammo .308 in my rifle)?
Would appreciate some advice,
thanks guys
