Anyone have leupold std base/rings on a savage 99?

Hello all, I just installed a Leopold std base on my 99f and need advise on ring height. Haven't decided wether to put a 2-7x32 or a 3-9x40 on it. I have both and am leaning toward the 3-9. Problem is,I don't know which ring height to go with. I am pretty sure the lows will work with the 3-9x40 but how about the extra lows? will the extra lows work with the 2-7x32? Both scopes have one piece tubes btw. Thanks

You might have better luck in the Hunting and Sporting Firearms section. I've got Weaver bases on mine, low rings, older Weaver K4.

Yeah, i thought that as well. Ordered some lows any way.should work well. I have the weavers on another 99 but this one is so light, i don't think i will mind the extra weight of the steel base and rings.
