Anyone have the semi-auto MP-44's (BD-44)?

Dont have one (have the real thing)

But I have had a chance to compare and they are excellent quality 'fakes'

Worth the money considering the real thing (prohib) costs about the same or even more

for a $3000 gun, I would take a brillo pad to it and scuff it up a bit to age one....but thats just me

You will be the COOLEST person at the next milsurp shoot with one of them

What got me about them was that they're restricted and I think they come with the one short mag, which is annoying. Unfortunately, historical accuracy=restricted.

bd-44

ya I bought one from wolverine supplies .....great people to deal with ...but the only problem was that it would not fully close the bolt to fire ....I just loved the gun but that was the second time I sent it back .....and in due time I'm going to get another ....it makes a nice collectors piece....

Does anyone have the StG-44/MP-44 semi-automatic carbines made by Sport Dietrich? I am wondering about their quality and shootability.
An StG-45 would be the bees knees but alas that won't be coming.

i fudging hate you guys :D.. we get nothing close to that cool in NZ .. short mag or not

Wait a minute, if you get the right license you can have the real thing (or at least you used to be able to until VERY recently) and your M14's are real too. I'm also aware of at least one guy in NZ who has a real (complete with joy button) VZ-58. 'Sides I'm sure Marstar would sell you one if you wanted one (very costly though) :D

I hate it when you 'old' guys comes out with stuff like this :D
Its just not fair, you lucky b*sterd :D

i like mine. Needs to be fired tho ... Ammo is hard to come by due to import restrictions on surplus so im told

Pretty disingenuous, as excuses go. There never was surplus 7.9x33 in quantity: even the Americans pay $1 per round or more for it, and they have the easiest import laws and most efficient market place for ammo in the world.

It is my guess that kurz ammo is easier and cheaper to source right now in Canada than at any time since about 1946. Dies, data components and even new production ammo from a major brand (Hornady) are all available, which is probably more than you could ever say before.
