i just bought a springfield xd it should arrive next week by mail, its the 5" tactical 9mm, anyone have one or shot one? did you like it? how will it stack up against the glock 17

Shouldn't you have shot before buying?

I do not like the feel (fondling or shooting) of any glock in the least. I really do like the XD though.

I put almost 6000 rnds thru one with nary a stoppage. I like them alot, good gun for the money, point well, easy to find holsters for. You will like it.

I owned an XD40 for a year now and have out about 800 rounds through it and it has worked flawlessly. I would of sooner been able to get a 4" service model but they are prohibited:mad:

You should be very happy with your new XD! I have had XD's in 9mm and .45 and they were good shooters; accurate and very reliable with better ergonomics than a Glock. I think you will be very impressed! Congrats!

thankx

thank you for all the relpys guys.

im counting down the days till it arrives. i think a week and ill have it.

response: to the guy that said "should shoot before you buy" its hard with restricteds and you have to know someone that has the gun you want to tbuy

yes i have a xd in .45acp very nice gun trigger was a little stiff when i got it but it smoothed out after 500rnds i dont have a way of checking pull but i would extimate it around 3.5-4lbs

pistol now has 4000rnds through it with no cleaning or servicing still preforms flawlessly

Had an XD40 now for about 2 months.
Have put a few hundred rounds through it so far and no complaints at all.
Could maybe use some grip tape on there for a little more traction but thats about all.
