SKS ramline stocks melting ? I read it somewhere. Just cant remember where

i have a ramline on my sks and ive had no problems. was at the range today, got the barrel damn hot with no melting or smoking of the stock

I have seen them get "tacky" after coming in contact with muskoil fly repellant (in oil form). This stuff eats all kinds of platics / synthetics and will take the paint of your vehcle too. A few people at our club have noticed damage to the finish on their $$$ shotguns too.

My Choate Mini14 stock DID start to melt a bit after some prolonged working out on the range one day....right up at the forend. G'dam...those barrels can get hot!
