I am looking for opinions on Bushnell Elite 6500 Scopes?

I recently picked up a 6500 in 4.5 - 30 X 50 and am trying to decide which caliber rifle to mount it on.

I have a couple of rifles that I can mount it on, both Remington's a 223 and 5R 308.

I have one AR with heavy match barrel 1/7 twist.

Its probably too much scope for my Anschutz 54 .22 match rifle. I only shoot it at 150 Meters.

I have a Kahles 6 X 44 military scope but it doesn't work well under 300 meters unless I use a 20MOA base on my 5R 308 which is strange.

I recall it worked ok on my Styer SSG 69 when I had it years ago.

I have ,new , I picked up a sako P94 Finn fire while back and as that was the only scope I had that was a "good " scope stick it on the finfire.
I loved it , a bit over kill but what the hell, the gophers would drop all day long out to 150-200 yards, mine had the mildot and the bottom dot is what I used for the long ones.
What is interesting is what happens to the gophers when you shoot them at long range with a 22 r.f., no crawling back to their holes
P.s. I never got over x 20 or so with it, 30 maybe if shooting off a good bench at paper, I found it too strong

I used to own an Elite 6500 2.5-17 I think it was and the glass was terrible. I sold it for a loss as fast as I could.
Was shooting 800 yards with two rifles, one had the Bushnell and the other had a Sightron SIII and the Bushnell was so bad after looking through the Sightron I couldn't stand to look through it again. Don't waste your money on Bushnell.

If your budget doesn't allow for a $1000 optic at least look at Burris or Nikon.
Bushnell and Vortex are junk in my opinion. You'll just end up sending them in for repairs or upgrading them later anyway.

I have one of them. It's on a Remington 308. Been shooting at 600m with it. Love it but where i'm going right now I would need a FFP scope. Would trade it for same in FFP anytime.
