Anyone here hunt Zone 58?

Hunt Zone 58 in Ont or close by?
This will be my fist time deer hunting this Zone.Hows the deer population here?

I hunt 58 down by Griffit, deer have been plentifull. DAN>>>

I hunt, the second week, near Calabogie.
The last couple of years, the pickings have been a little lean in our area, although other groups in WMU 58, up along the Hydro lines above the Barrett Chute Dam, have had success.
The past couple of years, I have noticed a large increase in the bear population in the area of 58 I hunt in.
When we walked in this spring, we noticed evidence of early waking bears snacking on fawns.
Now, I'm not a biologist myself, (although my hunting partner is), and I'm sure there are those who will say I am wrong and there is no connection, but as for myself, I bought a bear license this fall for the first time in years. :wink:

I hunt Mt St.Pat Usually deer so long as the Wolves are few.

On a recent trip to Calabogie to play golf, we must have seen 15 deer driving from Calabogie to Dacre, and another 5-6 on the way to the Wilno Tavern . Note: Deer assessments were made before hitting the Wilno...
Too bad I have a tag for 60A :shock:

I hunt in 57 - a little further to the west. We always do very well... 12 guys will usually only have a tag or two left at the end of the week.

On recent trips through WMU 57 and 58 I have seen a decent number of deer. I think it's shaping up to be a good hunt.

I'm having my first try at hunting unit 59 this year. I'm right on the boundary of unit 58 and there are lots of deer in the area.

has anybody hunted/scouted wmu 59 near Dacre lately ? How is the deer and Turkey population?
