I know I sure will be. :D

Just picked up a Winchester 1886G in 45-70. I'm going to take it out and hopefully get a deer with it. I've been thinking of getting this rifle for a couple of years now, and found a deal I couldn't refuse.

So, what big bore are you going to be shooting bambi with. ;)

Well, if I could take a rifle where I hunt, I'd bring along my 1895 cowboy, but since it's a shotgun/ML only area, I'll be using my Savage 10MLII. I figure 300gr at approx 1900 would count as big bore, sure did the trick last year.

Not really a big bore, but I will probably use my .375 H & H for elk and maybe bear again this year. It's also about time I kill something with my new Marlin GG 45-70, maybe a whitetail.

I have been carrying my Marlin 45-70 with 340gr soft cast hollow points at about ~1000-1100 fps. Seems low, but it's still a super loaded .44 magnum :)

I keep a few 325 hard cast at about 2000 fps in the shell holder in case I either can't get close enough or I think maybe I should have something a little more powerful in the chamber :)

Thinking about taking the H&R 500 S&W out for a late season deer.
500 gr @ 1600 fps isn't too shabby. Haven't taken it to the max though but for deer, more then enough.

Yep have my 22" barreled T/C Contender carbine zeroed with 325gr FTX @ 1850fps and my Marlin 1895GS zeroed with 350gr A-Frames @ 2050fps.

Not sure if a 375 is classed as a big bore if it is I'm also hunting with my T/C Prohunter in 375H&H loaded with 250gr TTSX @ 2620fps and my 21" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 375JDJ loaded with 260gr Accubonds @ 2300fps.

and last but not least my 14" barreled T/C Contender carbine in 45 Colt.

Not to be an ass, but do you guys really consider a .45/70 be a big bore? I guess if your are looking strictly at bore diameter, then it is....but then so is a .44-40 WCF.

45/70 cal using either a H&R Buffalo Classic 500gr pill or My Marlin Cowboy lever action 405gr pill. The 45/70 Pedersoli sharps is to heavy to take hunting. Waiting for the liquid alox to cure before reloading some more practice rounds.

I do think .45/70 is a big bore, .44/40, not so much.

Not a "Rifle BigBore..
Got me a Nice 870 12ga , Going to use her with slugs , I don't need to use a shot gun in rifle..
But I want to!

I do have a 45-70 T/C ENCORE) But don't think I am going to use that this year

If we're counting pistol rounds then i'll be using my Rossi M92 in .454 Casull for close range work in the thick stuff. The rifle barrel sure adds some extra zip to her. I'd have no problem using it out to 100 yards for moose. Havn't been lucky enough to try it yet though. Maybe in a few weeks.

I will take out my Steyr Prohunter Big Bore 450 Marlin for spring bear hunt 2014 along with my newly aquired Benelli R1 338 Mag... JP.
