I'm kind of fond of it.

seems intuitive to me and I like the fact that you're able to see what their 'mildots' are on rather than having it 'covered' like the 'mildot' reticle would do.

anyone buy their Monarch 7 glass yet?

I know the bino's are good, so would suspect the rifle scope to be good too, but you just never can tell now-a-days. :p

I'm a fan of the mechanics of the BDC reticle, especially when paired with the App that lets you gague the exact distance your bullet will travel based on weight and velocity. Once you have a load developed and run it through a chrono, you are pretty well safe to know what your max shooting distances are with that particular load.

I just mounted my Monarch 3 on my 250 and am headed out this afternoon to try it. Love the look and feel of the scope and the glass is great on them. For a middle of the road price, I'm very pleased.

I really like the BDC on the Nikons and now have three of their scopes with it; I find the BDC really helps with my accuracy on both my 7mm and .270.

Have a couple, the circles don't bother me but the horizontal x-hair line is tight would like to see the heavier outer lines shorter so to speak. it sort of gives the illusion of tunnel vision, but I suppose that might help concentrating on your target a bit more.

The circles don't bother me on bit too. Also if I don't focus on it, they are not that noticeable anyways, if its exactly in your point of aim is when I notice them. But again I am biased, I have one for sale (and the reason is I upgraded to more magnification). Durable and never lost zero, pretty clear glass for the price range.

I own 4 nikons, two with bdc and two with nikoplex. I feel the same about the circles. I would prefer just a traditional style bdc reticle. One of my bdc scopes is the inline xr muzzleloader scope. For the life of me, why a muzzy scope needs a bdc is beyond me. I hate it in this application. Actually, i bought both bdc scopes at the same time and, if i had to do it again, i would go nikoplex.Other than that, no complaints with nikon.

Thanks for the feedback all, for those that voiced concern over the circles; What's your main contention? Always looking for constructive criticism we can take to the design department for future products.

I just don't like the sight picture that the circles create, and the circles are larger than simple hashes, and they seem to clutter up the scope more. I like the Nikon Monarch line for the price, but not that reticle.

I own a couple Nikon BDC's. At first I wasn't fond of the reticle type but after shooting them with different calibers, I eventually got used to it. Nice, clear glass btw.
