Anyone else here using a laser on their pistol? I recently decided to splurge a little and bought a CTC laser for my Glock 22. Here is what it looks like on the pistol:

Not as small as the LASERMAX (which I also considered buying) but I liked that I could adjust windage and elevation on the sight. I really like having the night sights and laser all line up... something different. I am mixed on it I don't know that I will get a second one for my incoming G19...

It does look neat. This pic sucks but you can see what I mean.

So anyone else here using a laser?

Hi!
I put the lasermax on my g17 for a short time and didn't really care for it.

Its really cool looking, and I like how its integrated so it doesn't change the grip size. I really think its better to learn how to shoot without any accessory's on the gun which is why I removed it.

I also bought that Crimson trace one you have, but I couldn't stand it mainly because of the fatter grip, but I also was not a huge fan of the fact that it needed "calibration". I also absolutely hate how you can't just turn it "OFF" like you can with the laser max. For instance if you are shooting at 50yards rather then 25.. or 10 yards etc.. it definitely does not put the hole where the laser is on the crimson trace. Lasermax was dead on at all distances I could see the red dot from.

The laser (no matter which one you get) definitely impresses the ladies though, but besides that I would say its more of a gimmick.

I have my lasermax up on sales corner right now. If anyone is interested I am taking offers :p

9X19: All sights (laser or iron) need to be calibrated. I doubt that the lasermax can be "dead on" at all distances as a bullet travels in a parabola shape it is unlikely that your sight will be on at all ranges. I am planning on zeroing my laser for longer ranges (say either 50 yd) and using the iron sights for everything up close. I found that the more I use the two I found my eyes were picking the laser faster then the iron sights...

I guess to each his own.. but that laser is so bright, that if you were shooting at like 15 yards say, (but it was calibrated for 50) its going to mess with your head because the laser is going to be pointing way off to the side of where your factory sights say you're aiming. Thats whyI said its a shame that you can't turn the crimson trace off.

I agree that for fast target acquisition and for moving targets the laser is nice.

The reason i said its dead on is because the lasermax is in line with the bore of the gun.. and even at 50 yards, which is the max distance I would even shoot silhouettes from anyway, the bullet doesn't drop enough to notice. Also even a slight movement of the gun at that distance makes the laser dot on the target go crazy.

The reason I said the lasermax was dead on was because I took some high definition video of me and my buddies at the range, and when slowed down in adobe premiere you see the dot on the target shaking, then BAM! a hole there.

I want to get a LaserMax unit for the G19 that I plan on getting some day. I am not a fan of units like the TLR-2 where the laser is UNDERNEATH the light as it is very offset from the bore of the gun. CTC seem to be good as its higher but external on the grip and adding minor bulk.

I am happy with being proficient with night sights.

I don't know about added bulk as the CTC is very lightweight I do like the ability to adjust the windage/elevation for offset if you look at the pic above you will see that I put the laser sight above the iron sights (cowitnessed if you will) Probably you can't tell because the pic is bad. The only time I have noticed that the sight isn't even close to where the irons are is up close (less then a meter) and then you will see a laser dot off to low right. As I shoot with a two handed grip I don't find that the grip is much larger then usual. I will have to see when I go out to the range and pump some rounds down range...

I am couple of days behind here, I got a CZ 75 (or 85?) in
trade a few years ago with a lazer on it and thought- Neat,
but as I am a pi++ poor shot any way, I found it was not a help.
But it sure showed up all the wiggles and twiches thou.
But I have never been able to shoot a CZ good, must be the fit??
I do much better with 1911 or my sg 220.
But it was a good selling gun when I put it up for sale.
