Anyone Here With Experience with Alliant Reloder 25?

I find myself with a decent supply of Reloder 25, but an insufficient supply of Re26, which I'd prefer for my purposes. I'm mainly interested in getting maximum velocities out of my .270 Win. and 6.5x55 Swede. From what I've read, Re26 is now the clear choice for top velocities with the .270 Win. Does anyone here have experience with Re25 in either the .270 Win. or 6.5x55? It appears to have lower bulk density than Re26, and, as I scope this out via QuickLoad, this would seem to make it more difficult to get enough of it into the .270 Win. or 6.5x55 case to get pressures and velocities up to maximum. Since I have lots of Re25, I'm wondering whether I can use it to good effect with these two cartridges.

I agree with Andy on the burn speed. RL25 being a bit slower than RL26. I believe the density of RL25 is a small amount less than RL26.
84 grains of each in my 8mm Rem Mag, the 25 makes for a fuller case than does the 26. The 25 gives up about 100 fps to 26 with equal
charges behind both the 200 and 220 A-Frames. Dave.
 
I use nothing but Alliant #26 in my 270 Winchester, velocity and accuracy are superb! Other than the 270 Winchester, I've used Alliant #25 and #26 in other cartridges and concluded that sometimes one or the other will show signs of pressure. Alliant #26 is suppose to be slower than #25, however to the contrary with some load development. I personally would try #25 and experience the results.
I originally started with Alliant #16 and had better results than what the manuals stated, however #26 was much better.

Yes, that's why I want to get more Re26. Seems to be just about unobtainable right now in Canada. I do have lots of Re25, though, so may try to see what I can do with it in my .270 Win. and Swede.
 
It is my choice of powder in my 6.5-06. I tried it in my 264WM where each shot in the 3 shot string increased in velocity. Usually the opposite happens. So there, I rejected it and ended up using it in the 6.5-06 where it behaved well. In fact I bought some more. Should be good in a 6.8-06 (270)

So could you get enough Re25 into your 6.5-06 cases to get good velocity?
 
I have slow barrel, so the problem of lack of speed wasn't my concern, pressure was. I had to back off. A good 6.5-06 should be able push a 140 at 2900. I think RL-25 has a fast enough burn for that.

These are my final results using Alliant #26. I haven't shot it in the last two hunting seasons, used other rifles/cartridges. My rifle is full custom off a Remington 700 action, 27" barrel and short throat.
