Just a heads-up on this as far as legality for larger game - I know in Alberta that the fired case length of a .30 Carbine is under the requirement for hunting big game (same reason the 7.62x39 is illegal here as well) so you may want to check out your hunting rules and regs to make sure it'd be legal in your jurisdiction.
