I wish I could but the woods were silent:(
Went all the way to Argentina ,even shot a stag but there was no Roar when we were there.
There were ups and downs but it was a real nice trip 21 days worth.
Argentina is a hoot if you speak a little Spanish.

Argentina is beyond safe, and Iguazu is spectacular. It's also crazy affordable, for what you'd pay for a motel in Fort St John you'll have five star accommodation. It's good for keeping the wife happy for a few nights of the trip, take her to a dinner show in Buenos Aires.

Never done Red deer in the roar, but have hunted Rocky Mountain elk in the rut. Blood boils on both I'm sure.

Love me some Argentine asado.

As to the OP. Can I ask a dumb question? What is a roaring red stag and how is it different than quiescent red stag?

Not surprisingly Elk is the exact same sensation and style of hunt, they're technically the same species after all, Elk are just a larger Red Stag with subspecies variations. We just call it bugling for bulls here, pretty awesome experience working a couple bulls at a time in a mountain valley.

yeah no doubt!
you would understand, that hunting elk out of Rut/Bugle/Roar just isn't the big deal that hunting the Bugle/Roar is!

red deer roar has nothing to compare with the bugling of an elk ...

i ve hunted red deer during the roar and heard elk in the Yukon .... the size of the animal cant be compared for sure but the roar of the red deer will bring you goose bump as this is going deep and loud. if there is a valley that is even better ...

the roar of the red deer is like the end of the bugling vocal elk but on the long run for the red deer. listen on yutoube and you will hear the differences.

we cant call them in France during the roar as they are to easy to come by and seems we needed a little of challenge ... in Poland they re using a big white shell to call them but they are not coming that easy maybe the accent lol ...

You know, and not trying to detract from anything or anyone's experiences, but personally no calling is more exciting than bringing in a big bull moose right to bow range. Never shot one with a bow but have called many to 20 yards, and want to talk blood boiling... then again sure Red Stag would drive me wild too. You have to stare down a 50"+ bull moose a few times in your life from where you can smell him to have properly lived. Could well be the same with good Red Stags and I just haven't been educated in them properly yet. Sounds like a fun bit of education.

Funny I was just having a conversation about that this weekend with a hunting buddy. He has no interest in moose, and found it hard to believe I got as jacked up about cold horse back moose hunting as I do in sheep season. Once you hear a couple deep grunts at pissing distance you get hooked :)

calling in any animal is pretty swarve though!! thrilling. exciting. I guess the bigger the critter the better/wilder it is :D

Indeed, love hearing a big rack come through the bush towards your call too.
