Same here. I am going to be deer hunting alone but with two leaking tire minor mishaps, I tend to keep the truck parked near well travelled dirt roads at the very least. I always have my cell though and email or phone friends or family when I take all day long trips so they know when I'm expected home. I also keep my long walk trips in areas I am more familiar with. In newer areas I tend to sit in my folding turkey hunting chair, very near to game trails when deer hunting alone. I only expect company when deer season is over and my buddies get the winter blahs in December/Jan/Feb and we trudge around the snowy forests for hares. For the most part I hunt alone. My son comes out with me now and then but 9 out of 10 times I'm alone. My hunting buddies have gotten too il or have passed away and it has become impossible to find others to hunt with so I gave up trying. Now I find I look forward to the time to get away from all the demands on me and just relax and breath the fresh air. I walk where ever I want, set up blinds where I want and I don't need to coordinate or phone and organize anything. I just hop in the truck and go.
