Anyone hunting with Lever?

Few rare calibres popping up which is awesome to see!
News since this thread started.
In a few weeks il be running around with my new lever, a No1 .303 :)

I'm on a mission this year to bag a deer with my grandpas old '94 30/30. That way it'll have taken animals for 3 generations. And if I can fill my last tag with my new Rossi .44 mag I just put a full stock on, that'd be pretty sweet too!

Every one of my firearms is pretty much a lever of some sort be it one of my lever action Winchester's, my O/U, yes technically a break action but you have to slide the lever to open it as you do to open my Ruger #1, use the under lever to open the falling block action. :p

Ruger #1V 22-250Rem.
Winchester 101G DU50 12ga.
Winchester Model 71 .348 Win.
Winchester Model 64 Deluxe Carbine .30WCF
Winchester Model 9422XTR .22LR

Coming up this Monday I'll be using my Marlin '95 45-70, loaded with some 405gr solid cast bullets behind a shoulder raping charge of 46 grains RX7. Bring on the big bucks!!!!! Slightly over-kill but you only live once and whatever gets hit with that load won't!!!!

I had a game of cat an mouse with a spiker Sambar today just after midday.. it was feeding by the creek in the over grown blackberrys an i walked up a track as you can occaisinally put up a deer...

I spied it feeding about 100m away, in the binos i could make it out as it slowly fed between a semi jungle patch of scrub. I had the lever 94 with me an was standing beside a tree ready to get a good lean once he cleared the patch... at this point he took forever so i went to my right to try get a broadside shoulder shot on him, as i did this I forfeit the game of hide an seek, it was all over.

I opted not to just have a crack, as the blackberrys were semi inpassable an i wasnt goin to look for blood, but i woulda gone to get some meat from a solid shot.

Trying again in the morning, for a Fallow doe at least.

The deer was 20 feet behind the tree.
