Anyone in Calgary/Didsbury Area

I'm new to the area and looking for fellow precision shooters. I have not got a single round down the pipe since I moved here due to a lack of shooting buddys and local ranges. If anyone knows any spots or wants to help out a new guy post here or PM me.

If you're interested in long range and precision, we shoot from 300m to 900m using DCRA rules (see DCRA.ca). The range is Homestead, out in Kananaskis Country, about 45 minutes west of Calgary. No shortage of shooting opportunities in the summer months here in the Western Provinces.

Homestead range in K-country has a public range. Thats probably your easy option.

Thats a pretty good haul but not too bad. I am really looking for someone to shoot with, endless hours at the range gets boring after a while.

Something for every shooter under the APRA. I am part of the AFRA club which operates under the APRA blanket organization. F-Class and T/R shooting from 300 to 900 meters with people who really like shooting.

The next few scheduled matches:

June 22nd to June 24th - Fullbore Provincial Championship

Friday - 2+15 each at 300m, 600m & 900m (Lt. Governors)
Saturday - 2+10 each at 400m & 600m, 2+15 at 500m & 800m (Provincials)
Sunday - 2+10 at 300m, 2+15 each at 700m, 800m & 900m (Provincials)


July 14th – Saturday - 300m ISSF Championship
- Sighters + 60 shots at 300m ISU target


August 18th & 19th - DCRA Alternative Match

Saturday - 2+10 at 300m & 400m, 2+10 (TR) / 2+15 (F) at 500m & 600m
Sunday - 2+15 each at 700m, 800m & 900m

I live in NW Calgary and just finished a rifle up. I need to get out and pull some trigger when the weather smartens up.

I'm going to be heading out in the Ghost / Burnt Timber area from time to time.....but I would roll out to Homestead if I have a weekend free....or a friday off.

I have the same issue, I have yet to put one down the pipe of my new .223 and it need to be sighted in.
