Well, KJP and I got out this weekend.
Started off at the 100y so he could sight in two of his rifles. I shot a group of my tried and tested round and did about 3/4 MOA including a cold bore shot. Satisfied with that I switched to my ladder test of SMK190's. I had two charge weights that showed promise, but over all not too happy about them. Probably try swapping the last 50 for a different weight / manufactures bullet. Probably try the 168's, and see what can be done with the ultra light 155's.
Then moved out and did 400 yards. The 10" dong proved to be too easy with a first shot hit and repeated that up with another 8-10 consectutive hits. KJP had some issues being that bullet trajectory was hard to see because of the background not showing splashes. Also he didn't have his zero's set on the turrets so we was working off a modified turret position. Once dialed in shots were repeated on target.
Making the challenge a bit more difficult we stretched the 10" to 600 yards, and installed a 5" and 3" at the 400 yard. The 5" was rewarding to hit, but after ringing the 10" at 600 a few times I felt good about getting the 3" at 400.
Weather was warm. Shade about 23 degrees, when the sun came out it seemed to go up real quick. Wind varried from calm to gusty.
All in all it was a great day. Nice with the warm days and lots of sunlight not to be rushed and enjoy the shooting.
Can't wait to get out again. Going to do some more reloading this week and maybe see if I can try another projectile to do some more tests.
