Anyone in canada offer an aftermarket carbon barrel for 10/22 or 77/22?

Why do you want a carbon barrel?

I think all modern barrels are made from either chrome-moly steel or stainless steel. I don't think a carbon steel has been used since the black powder days. Why would you want a carbon steel barrel??
edit: Ah, I see you mean a carbon fibre wrapped barrel? If that's the case, read this small post from Kirby Allen. Interesting stuff:

Seems to me if you read APS post. He makes it clear there is no weight savings or greater barrel life. Also the barrel heats up faster possibly effecting groupings.
I also looked into getting a carbon barrel.
Sounds like as everyone says, the chamber and crown are the important parts. The rest is just flash. So if you compared any kidd, volquartsen and pws barrel.
As long as the specs on the chamber and crown are the same, what its made of doesnt greatly effect its accuracy.

Maybe because I flippen want one? ! Sheesh
a few months ago I held a used (as new) magnum research 1022 at general gun in Windsor and it felt so light and quick. Very handy feeling gun. It would definitely compliment my heavy barrel 77/22. That's why I want one.

I believe the op is talking about a carbon fiber wrapped barrel, not carbon steel. I have a magnum research mag lite and you can literally carry it on your one finger. Great gun to hunt in bush with. Very light and accurate.

Check with freedom ventures, they appear to be the dealer for magnum research. It appears they only make it for 10/22, not 77. You can use 77/22 barrels in 10/22 with a shim kit, but not the other way. A 16.5" tapered barrel is a lightweight option, and easier to find.
