I have never actually seen or held one, and want to do so before I order. If someone would be so gracious I would greatly appreciate it. Preferably one in close to stock trim, either a 1911A1 or NP29, and from the past 2-3 years so I get an idea of how well they are being finished nowadays.

I don't need to fire it at a range, just want to check out the fit and finish.

Any takers?

If I was out your way I'd be all over it...... I for one have been very impressed with the fit & finish of the latest series of Norc 1911's. I have a new series compact [commander] and one of the later NP-29's. The blueing is particularly nice on these two examples.

Also, I was handling one of the new series full size Norc 1911A1 .45's yesterday afternoon at the local shop. Finish was very nice. It is in on consignment and owner put the idiot scratch on it, though. :(

At least it wasn't a $1500 Colt. :)

Norinco 1911 are great value. I'm going to pick another plane jane rinco-stinco government soon.

The 'idiot scratch' is from replacing the slide stop. If you're not careful the slide stop will scratch the finish as you rotate it into place to compress the plunger spring.

A trip to jail?

Why do you say that...there are plenty of Norinco rifles, shotguns and handguns in the USA...all legally imported.

Norinco products are no longer allowed into the USA but there was a pile of them already in the country before the Gov. banned them.

The misinformation on this site is sometimes astounding

Re: The Idiot Scratch.....

Ah, thanks. Never had that issue. More careful or better finish i guess.

If you are a true 1911 fanatic then eventually you will come across a Colt or other 1911 for sale that "you can't live without". If it's used it may very well come with the idiot scratch already installed. :D
