Anyone in Ontario seeing bears yet? If so, where?

WMU 62, two bait stations set up with whole corn and rolled oats.

As of last weekend no bears, just fat raccoons and a few deer feeding at the bait station.

Smeared bacon grease around the bait station and will be head up again this weekend... crossing my fingers something shows up.
 
Was at camp in powassan this past weekend. Deer by the dozens!! Moose sign. There was a bear lurking around camp three weeks ago. But the deer!!!! Holy smokes there's a ton of them out there. Practically every field you drive by. Sad part is we still won't get our antlerless tags this year.

Funny you mention this...Last Friday evening driving east between Trenton and Belleview at around 7:30pm. There are several open fields on the south side of the 401 and not a word of a lie we saw over 70 deer feeding in the fields. I've never seen so many at one time and in close proximity of each other.
 
I was target shooting in Muskoka region, when I was packing up, I saw a 1-2 year old black bear cruising by just 100m away. My phone was playing music, I was making a lot of noise and the bear was downwind of me. I don't expect to see him next year.

Checked the cameras Sunday. Trail cam shows first bears, this spring, (2 separate bears at two of eight cameras) over dog food bait on April 28th in Ontario 76A. I bait for deer, turkey, and bear year round.


Signed a petition while I was up there. Neighbor says the local council want to ban all hunting and all sport shooting including bows and pellet guns.
 
Really curious! What Mun. is that? I sit on a Mun Council in Central Ontario and had not heard about this one. Most Municipalities locally have supported Sunday hunting as well.
 
If hunters chose to sleep walk through politics, going forward, YES there is every chance that hunting is over in Canada for non indiginus people.
Which is crazy because every person, in this country, is not from here.
 
Old Goulet Bay road area at he Sault saw a lady and her dog get between A sow and 3 cbs on weekend- lucky lady survived!
