I've ordered a Archangel stock for my rem 597, as there is not a lot of choices for nice tactical stocks to upgrade it. This one looks pretty.... And the couples videos that i've seen on YouTube seems to give reviews acceptables... Exept for the marauder stock, but this one is for the ruger 10/22 only....

So any impressions are welcome!

And merry christmas to all, hope santas is carryin a lot of guns in its bags (he dose'nt have to go through all importation paperwork :)!!!!

I've got one on one of my 597's and love it. I haven't taken it down for cleaning yet though, I'm waiting on an extractor and hammer from Sylvestre sports. The stock is sturdy and a good fit, there are compartments to add weight or carry ammo. The mag's are a tight fit and I find it difficult to remove them with gloves on, but the 30 rd. ones come out ok. I bought some aluminum flip up sights to use on the rail, but will switch to a 4x scope after I take it down to clean. So far I tagged a rabbit with it and an awful pile of empty cans.

I have it as well. I find that the 10 rnd mags work fine however the 30rnd ones from remington dont fit so well (they seem to stick on going in and out as mentioned). However the promag ones work perfectly, a guy at the range I was shooting with had a standard 597 and he tried the promag and found it to fit better and just function better in the stock 597 as well.

Was the insallation easy? I've read that some guys had to dremel the stock prior to be able to drop in their 10/22...

Well, I wonder about modifying the bayonet holder to place it near the end of the forend... And let the flash suppressor in place. I don't know if it's possible? I don't like the way it looks to have a little barrel coming out the big forend alone, with nothing to make a "transition" ....

Another question come to me when i talk about the muzzle device provided with the stock: how it is fixed to the barrel? With a set screw or it's just very tigh fit?

Thanks
