Anyone interested in bolt/barrel combo and mags for building an AR-15 in 5.45x39?

Budget Shooter Supply can get non-surplus TulAmmo 5.45x39 (at least he could). I know because I have some ;) . I was contemplating doing an SKS conversion myself for fun a few years ago but I never got around to it. I can't remember the exact cost, but I think I got 700 rounds for 300 bucks & change... or something like that
 
Hmm, good to know. I actually just sent an email to TulAmmo Canada and all they got left is 7.62x39. Hopefully they'll get more 5.45x39 then maybe I'll check out Budget Shooter Supply. Thanks for the info, never really checked them out before.
 
I highly doubt they will get any in-stock for sale. I'd imagine that any coming into Canada is all special order... best is to email Budget and ask him to put an order in. That way it'll get down the pipeline and then you'll actually get some.

I'm looking into an XCR in 7.62, with a 5.45 barrel and bolt. That would be a sick setup!

I'm excited to see more options becoming more easily available in Canada. The 750 round cases seem to be not too bad deal.
 
I did a quick rundown of prices converted to Canadian dollars(as of September 15) with the $25 USD flat rate shipping and GST. Note you must factor in Canadian shipping from the IRunGuns warehouse to your address on top of these prices. I also added a cost per case of 750 as that seems to be the common number.

TulAmmo 60gr FMJ - 49 cents per round. $334.28 per 760
Wolf - 39 cents per round. $291.75 per 750
Hornady - 55 cents per round. $415.98 per 750

Factoring in shipping of minimum $50 (to NL in my case),even the cheapest option becomes less attractive then new production 7.62 which I can have 1200 rounds delivered to my door for $412.

No access to the cheap surplus 1080 round cases of this stuff is the deal killer for me to try adopting this caliber
