Any machinist types out there have any experience with this?
Know a good place where this kind of thing is done? DLASK?

I have an older 12.5 grizzly that needs to be choked. I'm sure somebody can handle it, but it is not me nor anyone I know.

Thanks

Most gunsmiths can open a barrel to accept choke tubes. Epp's does for one. The only problem that one gunsmith I talked to says that in some barrels the bore is off centre to the outside diameter. In that case there isn't enough meat on the one side of the barrel to make the cut. That isn't too common and the job usually cost about $100 plus cost of the choke tubes.

I figure an extra full choke isn't going to make it any less of a defensive weapon in close quarters but it is going to greatly improve its range. I have many shotguns for hunting and am not trying to build this one for that purpose. I like the grizzly as a truck beater for shooting skunks and raccoons etc... It has a already proven itself as being capable, I just want to make it better. the short barrel is part of the appeal (if it didn't really like the short barrel I would get rid of it or pack my 18" mossy. My ears would thank me for it.)

What area of Sk?, Kerry Higgins in Saskatoon can do it for you
Also I think Kerry Stricker at M S Socking at leader also do , but not sure.

With a 12 guage at 100 yds, not one of 60 pellets struck a 4 x 8 foot sheet of plywood.
If you want, I will try the same thing at 50 yds with a full choked 26 inch barrel . . . just don't be in a rush. I bet a gopher of coyote will generally go away, maybe wounded, if hit at all.
