Anyone into antique aircraft guns?

A Flakvierling (less the guns) surfaced in Westbourne Surplus in Manitoba about 30 years ago - likely discarded by CFB Shilo. I saw it in the surplus yard. Not sure where it ended up. A neighbour of mine served on Flakvierlings at the age of 16 in Austria at the airport for Vienna.

It is said/rumored that Von Richtofen's seat is on display somewhere in the GTA. But to this day I haven't been able to confirm that. I know, not MG related, but an significant piece of WW1 militaria if true ...

you guys aren't just hungry enough- we often used to sneak onto the flats with nothing more than a wrist rocket sling shot and some ball bearings-

T Interesting thing about the Brandon 50 cal is that it is a Canadian Asenals made gun (CAL). They also used a "L" in the serial number in the same format as the Enfields and FNs built there. The CAL built 50s are post war, mind you.

Before they moved to the new site, the War Museum had a complete "gun pack" that fit in the belly of the CF-100 fighter. It is the right vintage, so I would be willing to bet that any post war .50 aircraft guns made in Canada were likely for that (or possibly Canadair Sabres).

The Halifax bomber in Trenton as guns But if I remember correctly they are aluminum copies. The originals were too far gone being under water for so long. It is a great way to spend the day none the less. Their hours are on the website.

I saw the documentary of them fishing the wreck out of that lake...They did an amazing restoration!
