Not one to start threads but was really curious about this unique 9mm ruger I inherited,
looked it up online didn't see anything in Canada or even on Cgn for sale. Really don't know if it
carries a lot of value but maybe it's rare and valuable maybe it's junk, machining is very high quality though and it's in good shape. If you know
much about these or what the value is around feel free to share, not sure what to do with it even (and no
I won't be giving it away to you ;)) Thanks!

Cool, I have never had a firearm left to me. It's a decent serviceable pistol, but it is not valuable nor desirable. If you inherited it I would hang on to it as you won't get much for it, but can enjoy using it as the individual who left it to you likely intended.

Not rare, so it is not a collectable or really sought after. I have the exact same one that I bought a couple of years back from SFRC for $300. It's big, heavy and not very accurate but on the plus side, it claims to have the fewest parts of any semi auto pistol, which was the selling point for me. To be honest, I put it in the vault and totally forgot to disassemble and count the parts. I'll get around to it some day.lol

These Ruger P Series pistols are well engineered and built examples of the service type, hammer-fired and aluminum-framed SA/DA genre.

Some consider them chunky or blocky. I agree, but these big, tank-like pistols fit my average sized hands well and I have no issues with their ergonomics. I actually like their looks.

I sold my spare P89 and still have one, as well as a P91 (.40 cal) and a P90 (.45ACP). They have decent triggers and are all very reliable shooting well crafted full power reloads. They are reasonably accurate with my reloads and home cast bullets. I easily get 4 inch, 5-shot, 10 meter groups. My P91 is particularly accurate and capable of two inch groups.

They are worth around $400, for the stainless slide version.

For my purposes, even if no longer in production, these pistols are keepers I'd rather keep them than sell them as I feel more confident in their long term durability.
