Very well might, but I'm kinda thinking guns that have been used for 90K rounds a year and still are running is a good thing; the largest round count I've ever read (From a reputible source) was a bit over 10K for the HK. I realizt that -at best- I'm going to be doing 5K rounds a year, and that's pretty optimistic at the moment; but that capacity is there. If you have further data on something else that has been abused as much as an LWRC please pass it on.
LOL I'm sorry but that show is such a load of crap...I don't care who you are but a 5.56NATO round to the head is just as deadly as a 6.8SPC (yes, I have seen the episode also). Also the 5.56 may be more deadly at close to moderate ranges because of the way it cants about 45 degrees downward. It causes violent fragmentation and bone deflection. If the force doesn't kill you instantly like say a 7.62X51NATO then the horrible internal bleeding will. I think the manufactures are just grasping at straws trying to make the "next big improvement" to AR type rifles. Really don't think your gaining much at all by going with the 6.8SPC.....then agian, what do I know...

With the rifles going for about $2000 usd. They should be around $2700 with the standard 'AR' mark-up
Don't forget these are 'new' add a few hundred. And Target Sports is involved, add a couple hundred more.
The problem I see is there will be no service or parts from the dealer. Not a place I want to be in with a $3000+ rifle.

Huh? Where do you see MSRP for LWRC's rifles? They don't post prices on their website or in their catalog, and as far as I can tell rely on the dealers to set pricing.
They sell an M6SL upper for $1175 themselves (http://lwrci.com/p-266-m6-sl-stretch-lightweight-upper.aspx). Are you saying that LWRC's suggested retail for their lower is $825ish?
