Anyone know if the CURRENT S&W M&P rebate/mag deal is valid in Canada?

My buddy just bought a M&P9 and called the toll free number today to ask and got a recording and left a message. Hasn't heard back as of yet. He is sending in the paperwork anyway.
 
This is what Smith's site says.
"Offer valid in only those states in U.S.A. where it is not prohibited, taxed or restricted by law."
 
I was talking to a woman just a few weeks ago about the rebate and the new program isn't valid in Canada at all. They've said that shipping is too expensive and the import laws are causing them a great deal of headaches.

Kind of sucks since I just bought a new M&P9 as well.

But on a side note, Frontier has lots of mags in stock and I've bought a few from them already.
 
I'll tell you what I'm going to do.

I live in St. Catharines, Ontario. 10 miles from the border.

I have a friend who lives just outside of Buffalo. I will send in my rebate with my return addres as his address. Then we will know if it is the shipping issue or the canadian issue.

Just received an email from them that read "offer only vaild in US".

Lame. Especially considering that's possibly the deciding factor between me getting a Glock from Police Ordinance for $566 plus tax or an M&P for $599. Just leaves a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth.

Maka, I am envious of you. I have always wanted a friend who lives in the US for such reasons. What's the process for bringing canada-friendly mags over from the US? Any paperwork? Nice to see a fellow St. Catharin.....-ian...-ite? lol
