Today I finally got around to shooting my SIG P229 SAS and then completely stripped it when I got home. Yes, it is still working
I love the thing... it's the first pistol I've ever owned that has a perfectly centered front and rear sight and is shooting center at 25m. WOW! This alone makes me very happy with SIG
The DAK trigger definitely takes some getting used to and more range trips are scheduled. Recoil was mild (another who I allowed to shoot her asked if it was a 9 or a .40 'cause he couldn't tell)
Lots of people checking it out and admiring it for its natural, raw beauty.
Now the bad... I noticed that if I gave the gun a death grip, the trigger wouldn't reset properly; it was only when I loosened my grip that it reset. Weird!!
When I got home I took it apart and noticed that 0.5mm of the wood grip (inside) was interfering with the 'trigger bar spring'; I carefully cut it away (literally a sliver) and that was that... perfect! I don't mind this as the wood grips are custom fit anyway, so I am not going to get my panties twisted over a sliver of wood.
But anyway, back to the topic...
I want to order a few spare parts to have on hand should I ever need them:
-#7 Firing Pin Bolt
-#8 Extractor Spring
-#10 Extractor
-#11 Firing Pin
-#23 Trigger Bar Spring (this is the one part that I really want a spare of - it scares me.)
I am one of those guys who likes having spare parts for everything, just in case. Does anyone have any info/links on getting these spare parts for a SIG?
Thanks
Now for some pics...

AFTER (still works!):
