I just picked up a Hawken style muzzleloader. There is no maker's name anywhere. It has an L&R lock, double set triggers and browned steel furniture. I was hoping to maybe identify whose barrel it has. The barrel is 33" long, 1" across the flats, 8 groove and 1:48" twist. On top of the barrel it says 50 cal and the letters AN. On the bottom it has a 4 digit matching number stamped on the breech plug and on the barrel near the breech plug. It also says 50 cal and there is a symbol or trademark by the 50 cal. I was wondering if anyone has seen this mark and if it is the barrel maker's trademark.
