I am looking for a chiappa or Henry Mares leg. IN STOCK. I know I can order one from just about anywhere.

My work blocks most gun websites and I am trying to find one with not much luck.

Anyone know where I can pick one up? Number to call?

Business name?

Thanks

Rossi Hand Ranch is about the same thing. CanadaAmmo has 45 long colt in stock.

edit: they were in stock yesterday or so I thought.

Judging from the Chiappas I have owned or which have belonged to friends...well, the term "hit or miss" with respect to quality is extremely generous. Chiappa makes some of the nicest-looking, most poorly-built guns I've ever seen. On the other hand, my Ranch Hand is a joy to shoot, totally problem-free. YMMV. The Henry loads throught the front of the mag tube...no loading gate. Some owners don't care about that, but I hate it.

Thanks for the input. Out of curiosity, if the chiappas are as bad as they say...how is it that they can command a price close to 1000 before tax compared to a 550$ Rossi?

They look great. The Rossi guns, by comparison, look like crap. Maybe it's something else, I couldn't say for sure. But I have twice attempted to buy Chiappa firearms (an 1874 Sharps replica and a 92) and both guns looked wonderful, but malfunctioned almost immediately...one of them (the Sharps) right in the shop, before I even took it home. The gunshop and I waited for parts for something like a year before I finally told them to forget it. The 92 fired less than 20 rounds before it choked, and the shop took it back with no questions asked. A friend is now in the process of contacting them for parts for a 92 that he had for only a few months and maybe 300 rounds before it seized up.

My Ranch Hand isn't the prettiest or best finished gun I own, but it shoots well, performs reliably, and is getting smoother and smoother with continued use...for just over half the price of the Chiappa. Go figure.
