Does anyone know where in Canada I can get 500 gr .470 Nitro Express bullets, solids or other. Barnes did make them but my dealers are confused and they have no stock.

Woodleigh (woodleighbullets.com.au) do both softs and solids and are apparently distributed by accuracyplus.biz in Peterborough, although they don't appear on their website. I e-mailed them about .303 bullets this morning so hopefully they'll get back to me at some point.

Farshot,
A friend of mine had nothing but trouble getting bullets for his 470 NE double. Very frustrated, he solved the problem quite nicely by purchasing a new bullet mold that RCBS brought out a few years ago.

He now casts all the bullets he wants from wheelweights, and loads them to almost 2000 fps with IMR 3031. Uses them for practice,plinking and hunting over here and only loads with the much more expensive jacketed bullets when he goes to Africa.

Just something for you to consider.

Plinking with a .470NE? OUCH!

But at those (relatively) sedate velocities, cast does make a lot of sense.
