Anyone know where to get a Magpul SGA for a 590?

Yes, but does the Magpul stock help remedy this situation?
Absolutely.
I have three 590A1's (14", 18.5" and 20") and a 500, and 2 of these wear Magpul, 2 are factory stocks (one Speedfeed and one old-school wood). I don't have orangutan fingers and the factory stocks makes it a tad difficult to reach both the trigger and safety easily. The Magpul is makes it easy to reach both without issue. In fact my wife can do it with the Magpuls.

In stock at Brownells.

I'm pretty sure they will ship them to Canada. Please remember that price is in US dollars.

I want to change my 500 from the pinned action slide tube. Has anyone used the 6-3/4" tube with the hogue extended nut or will I have to get the 7-5/8" tube? I see promag makes one too. Anybody have experience with that one?

If you want to install the Magpul forend you will need the 7 5/8 tube assembly. You can fit it on a 6 3/4 but it requires modifying the forend which is a bit of a PITA but can be done.

I thought all the 'black' 500's had the longer tube or the 'one-piece'? The Hogue extended nut should work, but finding the longer tube would probably be easier and you could swap back and forth at will.

You have the same problem as the 14" 590A1's that came in - short tube and only a couple companies make forends for them. The Hogue nut won't work on the short barreled models as the magazine tube is also shorter - running out of real estate.

SGA would need to be modified to fit on your short action tube. Some guys have done it.

Thank you very much for that info! I'm amazed it took so long for someone to give a straight answer. Also, CTCSupplies has all 4 colors in stock. I can say that now that mine is paid for :)

I got both my fde and black magpul sga's and forends at canadian tactical cowboys.

I took my 590a1 out of the box and put on magpul furniture. Love it.

I was one of the first ones to get my hands on them in Canada, I went back to the hogue short stock...

What didn't you like about it? The Hogue short LOP has always been my first choice, on the 870 or 590. But when I bought my 14" 590a1 the short LOP was way too short. I ASSumed it would be fine as it was a good fit on my last 14" 870 Police, but it wasn't the case. I couldn't find a longer one so I decided to drink the Magpul kool-aid. So far I'm pretty satisfied.

But when I bought my 14" 590a1 the short LOP was way too short.

I agree, the LOP was too short and awkward on my 14" 590A1 with the short Hogue stock as well. Ending up selling it on the EE. Guy who bought it also said it was too short. I guess it depends on the person, some will like it others will not.

Although I have no experience with the SGA on a Mossberg, I'm certain it has great ergonomics (from what I'm reading) and the LOP is adjustable so I doubt that particular problem would arise.

The short Hogue LOP is marketed for youth. I'm not small enough to justify the use of one. The shortness of it is great, if your body type requires it, otherwise that's all it has to offer.
I prefer the SGA because at its shortest, it short enough. Any more would be too short on a short barrel gun for me.
The grip angle on the SGA is worth its purchase alone as well IMHO. Its the perfect blend of both pistol and field stock.

The grip angle and reduced length of trigger reach is a huge plus for sure with the SGA.
The Hogue short stock is also good for people wearing body armor or thick winter clothes but it can be shot by large people wearing regular clothes as well but you need to square your stance to the target. Hogue would be smart to come up with a basic spacer system to allow a bit of flexibility in the length because while it works I also find it about 3/4" too short.
