I've tried, I really have. I just cannot make my 9mm SAM Omega work for me

I've been practicing constantly with my 1911 pistols. I've just shot a toonie sized group with my Remington R1, and that isn't a one in a hundred rounds grouping.

At that same distance the SAM covers a quarter of the paper and the best I can do with it is maybe a 3.5" group. We are talking 10 yards here.

I can shoot my glock 34 better and more consistently than I can this pistol.

Anyone else shoot multi calibres in the 1911 and do you notice a marked difference in how well you do with one vs another?

First one to rant on about fundamentals gets on the ignore list. :p I'm talking same platform, same day, same rounds down range, same technique, 2 different cartridges.

Have you had another good shooter try both guns in the same session? And did they have the same results as you? Not all guns are tack drivers. I also seem to be more accurate with a .45 than a 9mm. I can't seem to group well with a Browning HP but shoot well with a SIG 220.

1911 in 9mm

Yeah, I like the 1911 in 9mm.

Also like it in .22 lr, .38 Super, .40 S&W, 10mm and of course .45 ACP, too. :p

Can't seem to find any good shooters who want to shoot it. Lol

I'm mostly alone at the range

Maybe it's bad attitude on my part because I've never had a 9mm that I've liked. I *tolerate* the glock since it shoots well. It's just one of those cartridges that I want to like, for reasons of economics, more than anything. Cheap to reload n free brass..

I second the Spartan in 9mm. Mine is very accurate but I have no issues with mags and I reload my own ammo. I would guess if your having issues with this one but not others that it would be something with the gun. Have you tried shooting from sandbags just to eliminate everything else? TC

I really like my 1911's in 9mm double stack, with a link-less barrel and not barrel bushing. Ow wait, that is a BHP.

IMO BHP>1911 (in 9mm)

i've got a para ltd , sti trojan , norc 1911 nowlin barrel & a whole bunch more lip stick . they shoot fine , 1.5" @ 25yds , ransom rest . but you will never get a 9 to shoot as well as a 45 , given the same quality of parts & fit . enjoy the dollar value of 9 & prefect your basic skills , 3.5" @ 10yds says alot more about the shooter than the gun .

For what its worth....I had 2 nork 1911's . one in 45 "very accurate"...one in 9mm " it was the sh1ts" and so was my buddys 9mm.

What's the logic behind a 9mm never shooting as good as a .45?

I got an STI USPSA single stack in 9mm at 2013 BC Provincials, never handled it and sold it as I needed $$. It was a brand new gun. I wish i didn't have to.
The guy who bought it told me he loved it more than his wife :) if it counts for anything.
I know one of the GMs here in BC has at least one and loves his almost as much :)
