Anyone like the RED "Canadian Edition" Sub 2000 Gen 2

Digital winter camo would have been cool. This seems like a nice gun to get women and children into the sport. I'll pick one up when they clear them out at $450

lol. 450, doubt it.
they will spray paint them black long before then.

which brings to mind a question...
are these painted red or is it red plastic?
will the red chip off?

Looks like 98% no is the answer. It reminds me of the AMC Pacer. Really ugly only appeals to a few and had to be priced well below comparable cars to sell

it seems, at least to me, that these are so damn ugly they must have been ordered, probably at a premium, by a customer who left Kel-Tec hanging and then Kel-Tec decided to sell them on the international market to save there domestic reputation.

more likely the distributor got them cheap because they are so damn ugly... or their buyer has poor taste.

just my 2cents

The color is cast into the plastic. Time will tell if these will sell as we bought as many as we could. As noted above I see some of these selling for young shooters and females but also to those shooters who want something different. I think the color takes away the scary look that people not familiar with many firearms may feel. Lets be clear here that Keltecs have a different look to start with and no doubt the red color makes them look even more like a Fisher Price toy. I'm OK with that as I own enough scary AK 47's, Ar's, HK 91's to play the part of a tough gun. I find it kind of fun to have a less serious looking piece. These by chance just arrived if anyone wants to come down to check them out, $769. Phil.

Even if I find a Sig version in Black, I may not be able to pull the trigger on a $729 Sub2k. The first one I bought was $599, hope our dollar rebounds.

Why didn't they come out with an ODG, desert tan or camo one? Why bright red???

The only things going for this rifle is the fact that it's NR, can fold and fit into a large backpack and can use 10rd pistol mags. It does look and feel like a toy, but my Gen 1 shot flawlessly and even though the sights were kind of crappy, I could hit pretty well up to 50yds (farthest I tried).

The Sub 2000's only come with Glock mags now. Well I guess we are talking about it and that is the whole point of doing something different. Since we were not asked about our opinion on potential colors it's all a moot point now. Phil.

Unsure if that's what Vault only wants to bring in, but be assured - there are more versions than what I've seen for sale here. Both the Beretta 92 or Sig 226 version would work for me...

From their website:

http://www.keltecweapons.com/our-guns/rifle/sub-2000

The 9mm SUB-2000™ can be configured in the following magazine types: GLK17, GLK19, S&W59, BERETTA92, SIG226.
The .40 SUB-2000™ can be configured in the following magazine types: GLK22, GLK23, BERETTA96, S&W4006, SIG226.
SUB-2000™ will be configured in the Smith and Wesson M&P variant in 2016.

Vault advised that only the Glock mag version will be available. Don't know if that's Vault's decision or from Keltec. Phil.
