Just doing some Load development. I am loading hornady cases and cci 200 primers. Hogdgson says 44.5 compressed but that is with rem cases and 95gr partitions. I don't have any 95 partitions to compare to the sst. I do have 100gr partitions. Are the sst and npt 95's close in length.? Thanks

I treated them the same as my 100gr Grand Slams, settled in on 40.5gr and I use Winchester mag primers. Haven't put them over the chrony yet, but accuracy is there in my Vanguard. Good neck seal, no pressure signs.

I use 4064, or IMR4350
Take the bullet so it looks about right, feed it in the gun. keep making adjustments so you can just close the bolt smoothly. You will be able to feel if there is resistance on the bolt going down.
95grSST shoots 1 MOA or better in my gun

I already checked my oal with the hornady gauge . I am starting .030" off the lands and they fit well in mag. Just a bit concerned I may be using a longer bullet than the partition thus compressing before 44.5 gr. I am loading some 95gr nosler ballistic tips up as well over same powder. I have some 100 gr partitions loaded with h4350 and some with varget to try as well. Next range session will be busy lol.

In my .243 I run H4831 for the 95gr SST and IMR 4350 for the 100gr partitions.
Also I have a summertime load of Rumtumbo with 105 VLD,but those tumbled colder then -5c.

Bullet on left is 95 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip, measures 1.116
Bullet on right is 95 gr Hornady SST, measures 1.106

The SST will kill deer just fine as long as you do not try driving them through bone at closer ranges.

They are somewhat fragile bullets, and lack penetration if heavy bone is hit. The 243 will drive the 95 SST to close to 3100 fps.

You might not want to see how fast they are going, according to Hornady the tips melt and degrade accuracy lol.

I can confirm today that the .308 125gr SST loaded down to 30/30 levels can drop em....12 year old daughter of a buddy I load for got her first buck with it opening morning.
