Anyone loading x-metal 125gn 9mm bullets?

Haven't shot 'em as yet. According to X-Metal's site, you're supposed to load them like cast pills.

I read your post about having to seat them deeper so I started off with a lighter load instead of my usual 4.2gr Titegroup behind a 124gr plated or FMJ or I would have been hammering like a madman trying to pull those loads.

Alright, lemme know when you shoot them.

Got to the range with my buddy yesterday and tested out the reloads.

Campro loads on the top and X-Metal on the bottom and all shot from my Shadow 2. I found the X-Metal to be a bit inconsistent and I think that could have been the result of inconsistent seating depths. I did a couple nice groups at 8M. Not sure why I don't have any from the 10M mark. The 3.5gr and 3.8gr X-Metal loads were at 1.07" COAL. For plinking, I think I'll just load up the X-Metal at 3.6gr Titegroup at 1.06" COAL and for accuracy, I'll stick to 4.0gr Titegroup with 124gr Campros.

As always, take this with a grain of salt as there are possibly too many variables that could have influenced the groupings ie not the greatest shooter, fatigue, free holding, bad eyesight and poor lighting. I only wished that I could have chrony the loads but the range was too busy.

Any sign of overpressure at 3.5 or 3.8gr titegroup @ 1.07'' ?

There were a few 3.8gr TG where the primers looked a little flattened but that could be a result of seating depth or the powder throw was on the higher side. I'm siding on those probably being 3.9gr TG. The 3.6gr at 1.07" looked fine. The 3.5gr at 1.06" looked closer to the 3.8gr TG at 1.07". All looked safe to shoot.

Your shadow 2 shoots a bit left?

Haha, I think that was all my doing as I shot everything slightly left that day. Crappy bad lighting and old eyes made it pretty hard to see my sights. Ughhh, getting old sucks.

When I bought these bullets, I also bought 2 boxes of reloaded x-metal ammos. The ammos were labeled 124gr and the bullets 125gr. The ammos were 1.150'' OAL and functionned correctly in my Shadow. If I load ammos with the 125gr bullets, I need 1.06 to 1.07'' for the ammos to function in my shadow. Otherwise they get stuck in the rifling and don't chamber properly.

I also bought reloaded x-metal 124gr; about one in ten gets stuck in my Shadow, and they're a ##### to dislodge. Never buying that crap ever again.

Oh man, I wish someone had posted how much variance these bullets had earlier so I'd have avoided 'em like the plague. I definitely won't be buying this crap again either.

Well, found another issue with those 125gr XMetal pills. At 1.07" OAL, they don't all load into my Wilson Combat 10rnd 1911 mags. Some jam up inside the mag and won't allow you to load another round into the mag.

The good news is that that I only have about 400 pills left to use up. Good riddance.
